What is the Artificial Kidney Center?
The St. Peter's Hospital Artificial Kidney Center offers a spacious, comfortable environment 365 days a year. It maintains an integrated collaborative care system with the specialists of 15 departments, including nephrology, anesthesiology and pain medicine, emergency medicine, cardiology, gastroenterology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, thyroid surgery, radiology, urology, obstetrics & gynecology, and neurovascular intervention.
Blood dialysis, performed mainly in patients with end-stage renal disease, passes the patient's blood through a dialyzer (artificial kidney machine) to filter it and returns the cleaned blood to the patient's blood vessels. It is usually performed 3 times a week for about 4 hours per session, with individual variation.
Dialysis is a long and demanding process that must continue until a kidney transplant. At the St. Peter's Hospital Artificial Kidney Center, we provide a pleasant, comfortable space with the latest top-specification dialysis equipment of proven safety, so that patients on dialysis receive high-quality medical care.
