Finger arthritis
What is finger arthritis?
Finger arthritis is the general term for a condition in which prolonged use of the fingers wears away the cartilage, causing pain in the finger joints or progressive deformity of the joints.
Symptoms
- 1
- Pain makes it hard to use the finger for long periods.
- 2
- The hand becomes red and swollen.
- 3
- Every finger joint aches.
- 4
- The finger joints are stiff on waking in the morning.
Treatment
Finger joint replacement surgery
Finger artificial joint replacement surgery removes the cartilage of a finger joint that has lost its function and inserts an ergonomically designed, custom artificial joint made of a material whose elasticity is closest to that of real human bone. The finger can move normally as it did before surgery, and the advantages include semi-permanent use, maintenance of a normal finger shape and a wide range of motion.
