St. Peter's Hospital reaffirms its commitment at the kick-off ceremony for 3rd-cycle healthcare accreditation.

St. Peter's Hospital (President Yoon, Kangjun) held a kick-off ceremony on the 11th for the task force (TFT) preparing for the Ministry of Health and Welfare's 3rd-cycle acute-care hospital accreditation review, formally beginning its accreditation preparations.

The kick-off ceremony for the 3rd-cycle accreditation preparation committee, held in the seminar room on the second basement level of St. Peter's Hospital, was attended by about 20 people, including Hospital Director Yoon, Kangjun and TFT members from each department, who renewed their commitment to the acute-care hospital accreditation review.

Yoon, Kangjun, President of St. Peter’s Hospital, said, “Just as St. Peter’s Hospital has done its utmost to improve the quality of care and ensure patient safety, if we keep preparing as we are now we should be able to complete the third-cycle acute care hospital accreditation assessment in 2020 without much difficulty.” Encouraging unity and engagement among those present, he added, “We have the major undertaking of the third-cycle healthcare accreditation assessment ahead of us. Let all of our medical staff and employees come together and take a step forward.”

The healthcare accreditation review, implemented by the Ministry of Health and Welfare since 2010, aims to have healthcare institutions make voluntary, continuous efforts to improve patient safety and the quality of medical services so the public receives high-quality care. It is a system that recognizes institutions providing improved quality of care and reliable patient safety management in line with international accreditation standards, and it is conducted on a four-year cycle.

The secretary of the accreditation preparation task force (TFT) at St. Peter's Hospital said, “Through the upcoming 3rd-cycle accreditation review, St. Peter's Hospital will raise its standing further and deliver advanced medical services in patient safety, quality of care, and infection control.”
